Move to - Vocab - utlizing the dictionaries - complete vocab - last 2 pages of your hand out. You can work with partners in room for this.

Review as class - story paragraph by paragraph summary & short story elements - identify each section (from last Thursday).

"Re-read Black Cat - make 1-2 sentence note for each paragraph - what happens in each paragraph? 


Task: Regarding your Elements of a Short Story Presentation - also in the margins of Black Cat - note where each 'element' occurs -

  • What makes a story unsettling?

  • Write a one-paragraph horror description involving an ordinary object taking on a sinister quality (e.g., a cat, mirror, or shadow). TEAMS.
