Defined:

Hapless: 

Unfortunate or unlucky; having bad luck.

Indomitable:

 Impossible to subdue or defeat; unconquerable.

Desolate: 

Deserted, bleak, or barren; a place or state of emptiness or abandonment.

Autonomy: 

The right or condition of self-government; independence.

Morass: 

A complicated or confused situation; a swampy area or bog.

Recalcitrant: 

Stubbornly resistant to authority or control; disobedient.

Subterfuge: 

Deceit used in order to achieve one's goal.

Maverick: 

An independent-minded person who does not conform to the usual expectations.

Non-Linear Timeline
